Over my birthday weekend, I rediscovered the beauty of friendship. We all celebrated with dinner and went out dancing which are two of my favorite things to do with my friends. I read my bible and came to a few quotes, Gal 5:13 -- For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
This was something my friends took to heart. I received such beautiful gifts from such loving people and my heart was filled with such joy knowing that people wanted me to be happy on my birthday. I really want the world to be full of the love and energy, that I was given this weekend.
Since my birthday was on a Sunday, my friends and I celebrated on Saturday, and Sunday. I technically had two birthdays, and decided that is the new thing to look forward to; same digit birthdays. On my 22nd I had 2 birthdays on my 33 I will have 3 birthdays, on my 44th, 4 bdays.. you get the Idea. Anyways, here is a great poem my friend reminded me of this weekend, its so beautiful.
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.
